Glossary Preparation

For .txt glossaries, input source in Column A and target in Column B. Use 'Save As' in Excel to convert to supported Xbench formats.

Importing Files

Drag and drop the files into the Project Properties dialogue box. Xbench automatically selects the right option for known file types.

Verify that all files are correctly listed. Ensure glossaries have 'Key term' checked and ongoing translations have 'Ongoing translation' checked.

Specific Import Options

When importing glossary files, ensure 'Remove duplicates' and 'Key term' are checked. For translation files being checked against the glossary, strictly select only 'Ongoing translation' to ensure accurate verification.

QA Check Configuration

Select the QA tab and check all options under 'Basic' and 'Content' groups. This covers punctuation, consistency, tags, and more.

Running Verification

Click 'Check Ongoing Translation' to start the analysis. Xbench will generate a list of discrepancies based on your selected criteria.

Exporting Results

Export the QA results into a .xls file. This report highlights all potential errors that need review and correction.

Excluding Segments

You can include or exclude ICE segments (In-Context Exact matches) by toggling the checkbox during the QA check process.
